Well, I participated in the 30hrs famine camp, organised by our church in response to helping World Vision raise funds for the people in Laos who are suffering from poverty. Upon watching this video, we should feel very fortunate as compared to these people in Laos, irregular meals, thousands of people dying every second. They live on cockroaches, frogs, crickets, and many other insects. Can you imagine if you were there, could you even survive? The pain and suffering of the children there, its makes me feel disturbed. They have to walk few kilometres, just to search for food and beg for money but they never complained. While some of us, walking a few kilometres, to school, to a nearby shopping mall, we start to complain tired, legs aching and etc. As fellow human beings, I believe that those who can afford it, just donate to world vision like maybe a dollar, though it might seem to be an insignificant amount, but it actually can save many lives of people in Laos. Upon watching this video, I hope that you can just reflect about it. How many times have you ever complained about food not to your liking, MP3 or Ipod memory too little, and etc. As compared to people living in poverty we are so much fortunate. Living in Singapore is indeed a privilege, for the country provides us with education, proper healthcare and proper housing. We should be thankful to God about what we have. Let me ask you something, other than your handphone, would you be willing to like sell your other electronic accessories like mp3, ipod and etc. To just help the children who are suffering, the disabled whom live in poverty. That was a question posed to me. Upon watching this video, I personally feel that I should go help out in mission works. To help the less fortunate out there. To be willing to step out of my comfort zone to help them, perhaps from what Bryan told me, help them build things, wash the toilet, cook proper meals for them, and ration food that were collected to them. I just have this holy calling to be doing mission work. ~Reflections from 30hr famine~
